How We Started

Stateside Man Goods (SMG) was founded by Mike Lee, a USMC veteran, while deployed to the Middle East.  During his time away from home, Mike realized that most of the care packages guys received when deployed were, well… ordinary. While everyone is extremely thankful to receive anything when far from home, it was obvious how attitudes and overall moral rose the few times an individual was fortunate enough to have been sent something extraordinary in a package. It was the combination of these factors that led to Stateside Man Goods.

Soon after launching our premium Military Care Packages, SMG created an excellent line of Gift Packages (not baskets), College Care Packages, Executive/Corporate Gift Packages, and a variety of unique non-food items that make fantastic gifts for Men (and a lot of women, too!).

Our Products

Our product line has been reviewed, tried, tested, and approved by Men. At Stateside Man Goods we keep our selections simple- just the way guys like it. We intentionally keep the number of brands we carry small to ensure that only the best make it into your gift package. After all, there isn’t much room at the top.

At Stateside Man Goods we don’t offer hundreds of categories featuring ordinary items that very few guys really care to receive anyway. After all, there are but a few paths to a real Man’s heart- alcohol, tobacco, sex, guns, the outdoors, and food. Throw in sports, particularly ones that involve fighting, and there you have it. So far, Stateside Man Goods has the food part down pat better than anyone else. (We’ll see about the others down the line.)

Our Military Care Packages are filled with specialty & gourmet items that most people have never heard of, yet everyone finds amazingly tasty.  We don’t fill them with ordinary items, useless accessories, or silly games. We designed our care packages from direct experience of having been there ourselves.

Our Gift Packages are simple, but filled with fantastic products carefully chosen by GUYS. Our premium snack foods taste great. Many of our snack items are unique to small town and family owned businesses across the country, and are not found in 99% of the gift packages on the market. Our gift packages are compiled in wooden boxes or rugged burlap sacks, as opposed to baskets or other types of gift displays. Sorry, no fancy bows on these gifts…
